Cel care este ocrotit De Cel Prea-Nalt și-Atotputernic, Cel ce odihnă a găsit La umbra Celui cari e veșnic,
2
Zice de El: „Loc de scăpare E Domnul, în care cred eu! El e cetatea mea cea tare, El este Dumnezeul meu!”
3
De lațul vânătorului, De ciumă și-a ei pustiire Scăpat ești, prin puterea Lui! El îți aduce izbăvire!
4
Vei fi, de pana-I, învelit. Aripa Lui te va ascunde. Credincioșia-I și-a croit O pavăză și nu pătrunde
5
Nimic, în locul unde stai. Groaza nopții nu te-nfioară; Nu trebuie teamă să ai, Nici de săgeata care zboară În plină zi, nici de ciuma
6
Ce-n beznă își are cărare; De-asemeni nici de molima Ce bântuie-n amiaza mare.
7
O mie-ți cadă-alăturea, Iar zece mii în dreapta-ți cadă, Căci nu se vor apropia
8
De tine. Ochi-ți au să vadă Care-i răsplata celui rău,
9
Că zici: „Am adăpost pe Domnul!” Și faci din Cel Prea-Nalt, al tău Turn de scăpare. Astfel, somnul
10
Nu o să-ți fie tulburat. Nenorociri n-au să te-alunge, Iar de urgii vei fi scăpat: La cortul tău, nu vor ajunge,
11
Căci spune-va îngerilor, Să te păzească-n a ta cale,
12
Iar ei – atunci – pe mâini te vor Purta, ca picioarele tale Să nu atingă pietrele.
13
Calci pe năpârci și peste lei; De-asemeni calci și șarpele; Nepăsător, treci peste ei.
14
Așa vorbește Dumnezeu: „Îl izbăvesc, căci Mă iubește. A cunoscut Numele Meu, De-aceea ocrotit, el este.
15
Mă va striga, și-am să-i răspund! Voi fi cu el în strâmtorare! La al său glas, n-am să M-ascund, Ci îi voi da ajutorare. Din toate am să-l izbăvesc, Iar mila Mea o să-l ajungă! În veci, am să îl proslăvesc
16
Și am să-i dărui viață lungă. Cu ea, el fi-va săturat. Are să guste fericirea, Pentru că lui îi este dat Ca să primească mântuirea.”
