O Doamne, Dumnezeul meu, Scăparea mea este la tine. Mă izbăvește, tot mereu, De cel care pe urmă-mi vine,
2
Ca nu cumva, ca și un leu, El să mă sfâșie pe mine, Știind că prins când sunt la greu, Să-mi sară-n ajutor, nu-i cine.
3
O Doamne, Dumnezeul meu, Dacă făcut-am fapte rele, Dacă fărădelegi, mereu, Avut-am pe mâinile mele,
4
Dacă cu rău l-am răsplătit Pe cel ce viețuia cu mine – În pace – și n-am izbăvit Pe cel ce asuprit mă ține Fără să aibă vreun temei,
5
Atuncea să mă urmărească Toți cei cari sunt dușmani ai mei Pentru ca viața să-mi răpească Și să mi-o culce la pământ, Iar slava să mi-o risipească!

Te scoală Domnul meu Cel sfânt! Mânia Ta să îi lovească! Te scoală, Dumnezeul meu! Trimite-le a Ta mânie Potrivnicilor mei, mereu, Ca să oprești a lor urgie. Trezește-Te să îmi ajuți! Trezește-Te Doamne odată! De mine Doamne-aminte-adu-Ți, Și rânduiește-o judecată!

Doamne, să fii înconjurat De a popoarelor mulțime, Iar peste ele, așezat, Să fii Tu Doamne, la-nălțime!
8
Judecător e Dumnezeu, Peste popoare, peste fire. Dreptate fă-mi, o Domnul meu, După a mea neprihănire Și nevinovăția mea!
9
Ah! Răutatea, o oprește! Pe cei răi nu-i lăsa să stea, Ci Tu Doamne, îl întărește Pe cel care-i neprihănit. Căci Tu doar ești Acela care, Rărunchi și inimi ai citit. O Domnul meu, Cel drept și mare!
10
Al meu scut este Dumnezeu. Pe-acela care se vădește Curat la inimă, mereu Eu știu că El îl mântuiește.
11
Domnul e drept judecător Și nu am pentru ce mă teme. Mânia Lui – foc arzător – Se va aprinde-n orice vreme.
12
Dacă, la Domnul, rău-acel Nu se întoarce, eu știu bine Că sabia Și-ascute El Și arcul încordat Și-l ține.
13
Apoi, azvârle-asupra lui Săgețile ucigătoare. Scăpare, pentru cel rău, nu-i, De-a Lui săgeată arzătoare!
14
Iată-l pe cel ce este rău: Doar lucruri rele pregătește, Fărădelegi – în gândul său – Și-nșelăciune, zămislește.
15
O groapă când a pregătit, Cade în ea, căci n-o s-o vadă.
16
Fărădelegi ce le-a urzit, Toate asupră-i au să cadă. La fel, cel rău va fi pățit Când a făcut vreo silnicie: Peste-a lui țeastă – negreșit – În urmă ea are să vie.
17
Pe Cel Prea-Nalt, Îl laud eu, Pentru dreptatea arătată. Am să-I cânt Numele, mereu, Căci nu-am să tac eu, niciodată.
