論祭偶像之物、吾識我皆有知、但知則矜衒、仁則造建。
2
顧自為有所知、則未嘗知如所當知、
3
惟愛上帝、則為上帝所知矣。
4
夫論食祭偶像之物、我儕識偶像在世為無、且上帝獨一無他。
5
或天或地稱帝者雖不一。蓋有多帝多主。
6
然在我儕有一上帝父也、萬物本之、我眾歸之、亦一主 耶穌 基督 、萬物由之、我儕亦由之。
7
然人不皆有此知、至今數人慣習偶像、而食物若為祭物然、其良知惟弱故見浼。
8
夫食將不薦我於上帝、不食無損、食無益。
9
惟爾其慎之、恐爾此權、或為弱者躓礙。
10
蓋或見爾有知者、席坐偶像之廟、彼為弱、則良知豈不自建、而食祭物乎。
11
蓋以爾之知懦弱之兄弟、即 基督 所為而死者、遂淪亡。
12
如是獲罪諸兄弟、其良知弱、爾且傷之、即獲罪 基督 矣
13
是食物而蹇礙乎吾兄弟、則我永不食肉免蹇礙乎吾兄弟也。○
