ഗായകസംഘനേതാവിന്; തന്ത്രിനാദത്തോടെ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു ഗീതം. [1] ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ പ്രാര്ഥന കേള്ക്കണമേ; ഞാന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് മുഖം മറയ്ക്കരുതേ.

എന്റെ പ്രാര്ഥന കേട്ട് ഉത്തരമരുളിയാലും, കഷ്ടതകള് മൂലം ഞാന് അസ്വസ്ഥനായിരിക്കുന്നു.

ശത്രുവിന്റെ അട്ടഹാസവും ദുഷ്ടരുടെ പീഡനവും എന്നെ പരിഭ്രാന്തനാക്കുന്നു. അവര് എന്നെ ദ്രോഹിക്കുന്നു, കോപത്തോടെ എന്നെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നു.

എന്റെ ഹൃദയം വേദനകൊണ്ടു പിടയുന്നു; മരണഭീതി എന്നെ പിടികൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

ഭീതിയും വിറയലും എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു പരിഭ്രാന്തി എന്നെ മൂടുന്നു.

പ്രാവിനെപ്പോലെ ചിറകുകള് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കില്, എന്നു ഞാനാശിച്ചു. എങ്കില് ഞാന് പറന്നുപോയി വിശ്രമിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

ഞാന് വിദൂരത്തേക്കു പറന്നുപോയി മരുഭൂമിയില് പാര്ക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

കൊടുങ്കാറ്റില്നിന്നും ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റില്നിന്നും അകന്ന്; ഒരു അഭയസ്ഥാനം കണ്ടെത്തുമായിരുന്നു.

സര്വേശ്വരാ, അവരുടെ ആലോചനകളെ വ്യര്ഥമാക്കണമേ. അവരുടെ ഭാഷകളെ ഭിന്നിപ്പിക്കണമേ; നഗരത്തില് ഞാന് അക്രമവും കലാപവും കാണുന്നു.

രാവും പകലും അവര് അതിന്റെ മതിലുകളുടെ മുകളില് ചുറ്റിനടക്കുന്നു. അതിനുള്ളില് ദുഷ്കൃത്യങ്ങളും കുഴപ്പങ്ങളുമാണ്.

അതിനുള്ളില് വിനാശം വിതയ്ക്കുന്ന അക്രമികളുമുണ്ട്. പീഡനവും വഞ്ചനയും അതിന്റെ വീഥികളില് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

ശത്രുവാണ് എന്നെ നിന്ദിച്ചതെങ്കില് ഞാന് സഹിക്കുമായിരുന്നു. എതിരാളിയാണ് എന്നോടു ധിക്കാരം കാണിച്ചതെങ്കില്, ഞാന് അവരില്നിന്നു മാറി നില്ക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

എന്നാല് നീയാണ്, എനിക്കു സമനും എന്റെ ഉറ്റസ്നേഹിതനുമായിരുന്ന നീയാണ്, എന്നോട് അങ്ങനെ പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചത്.

നമ്മള് സ്വൈരഭാഷണത്തില് മുഴുകിയിട്ടില്ലേ? നമ്മള് ഒരുമിച്ചല്ലേ ദേവാലയത്തിലേക്കു പോയിരുന്നത്?

മരണം അവരെ പിടികൂടട്ടെ; അവര് ജീവനോടെ പാതാളത്തില് പതിക്കട്ടെ. അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിലും ഭവനങ്ങളിലും ദുഷ്ടത കുടികൊള്ളുന്നു.

ഞാന് സര്വേശ്വരനായ ദൈവത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കും. അവിടുന്ന് എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കും.

ഞാന് രാവിലെയും ഉച്ചയ്ക്കും വൈകുന്നേരവും എന്റെ സങ്കടം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചുകരയും. അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ സ്വരം കേള്ക്കും.

അനേകര് എനിക്കെതിരെ അണിനിരന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഈ യുദ്ധത്തില് അവിടുന്നെന്നെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളും.

ആദിമുതലേ സിംഹാസനസ്ഥനായ ദൈവം എന്റെ പ്രാര്ഥന കേട്ട്, അവരെ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തും. അവര് ദുഷ്ടതയെ കൈവിടുന്നില്ലല്ലോ, അവര്ക്കു ദൈവഭയവുമില്ല.

എന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന് തന്റെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുടെ നേരേ കൈ ഉയര്ത്തി. അവന് ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ചു.

അവന്റെ സംസാരം വെണ്ണയെക്കാള് മൃദുവായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് വിദ്വേഷം നിറഞ്ഞു നിന്നിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ വാക്കുകള് എണ്ണയെക്കാള് മയമുള്ളതായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് അത് ഊരിയ വാളായിരുന്നു.

നിന്റെ ഭാരം സര്വേശ്വരനെ ഏല്പിക്കുക, അവിടുന്നു നിന്നെ പോറ്റിപ്പുലര്ത്തും. നീതിമാന് കുലുങ്ങാന് അവിടുന്ന് ഒരിക്കലും അനുവദിക്കുകയില്ല.

ദൈവമേ, അവിടുന്നു കൊലപാതകികളെയും വഞ്ചകരെയും പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു തള്ളിയിട്ടു. അവര് ആയുസ്സിന്റെ പകുതിപോലും തികയ്ക്കുകയില്ല. എന്നാല് ഞാന് അങ്ങയില് ആശ്രയിക്കും.
