Bendito seja o Senhor, minha rocha, que prepara minhas mãos para a batalha e meus dedos para a guerra!

Meu refúgio e minha fortaleza, meu alto retiro e meu libertador, escudo em quem me refugio; é ele quem faz o meu povo se sujeitar a mim.

Senhor, o que é o homem, para que tomes conhecimento dele, ou o filho do homem, para que o consideres?

O homem é como o vento; seus dias são como a sombra que passa.

Senhor, abaixa teu céu e desce! Toca os montes para que fumeguem!

Arremessa teus raios e dissipa os adversários; envia as tuas flechas e desbarata-os!

Estende tuas mãos do alto e livra-me; tira-me das águas impetuosas e do poder do estrangeiro,

cuja boca profere mentiras e cuja mão direita é a destra da falsidade.
9
Ó Deus, cantarei a ti um cântico novo; com a harpa de dez cordas eu te cantarei louvores,
10
sim, a ti, que dás a vitória aos reis e livras teu servo Davi da espada maligna.
11
Livra e salva-me do poder do estrangeiro, cuja boca profere mentiras e cuja mão direita é a destra da falsidade.
12
Que na mocidade os nossos filhos sejam como plantas bem desenvolvidas, e as nossas filhas, como pedras angulares e lavradas de um palácio.
13
Os nossos celeiros estejam repletos de todo tipo de provisão; as nossas ovelhas se reproduzam aos milhares e dezenas de milhares em nossos campos;
14
os nossos bois transportem riquezas, e não haja assaltos, nem ataques, nem clamores em nossas ruas!
15
Bem-aventurado o povo a quem assim acontece! Bem-aventurado o povo cujo Deus é o Senhor.
