Scapă‐mă de vrăjmașii mei, Dumnezeul meu! Pune‐mă la adăpost de cei ce se scoală împotriva mea.
2
Scapă‐mă de lucrătorii nelegiuirii și mântuiește‐mă de bărbații de sânge.
3
Căci, iată, îmi pândesc sufletul; cei puternici se adună împotriva mea fără ca eu să fi făcut vreo fărădelege sau vreun păcat, Doamne!
4
Ei aleargă și se pregătesc fără să fiu de vină, deșteaptă‐te să mă întâmpini și privește.
5
Tu, Doamne, Dumnezeul oștirilor, Dumnezeul lui Israel, scoală‐te să cercetezi toate neamurile. Nu te îndura de niciunul din urzitorii nelegiuirii.
6
Ei se întorc seara, urlă ca niște câini și înconjoară cetatea.
7
Iată, varsă cu gura lor, săbii sunt pe buzele lor, căci ei zic: Cine aude?
8
Dar tu, Doamne, vei râde de ei, îți vei bate joc de toate neamurile.
9
Puterea mea… voi lua seama la tine, căci Dumnezeu este turnul meu cel înalt.
10
Dumnezeul îndurării mele mă va întâmpina, Dumnezeu mă va face să‐mi văd dorința asupra vrăjmașilor mei.
11
Nu‐i ucide, ca să nu uite poporul meu; fă‐i să rătăcească prin puterea ta și prăbușește‐i, o, Doamne, scutul nostru!
12
Pentru păcatul gurii lor, — cuvântul buzelor lor, — să fie prinși în mândria lor și pentru blestemul și minciuna ce vorbesc!
13
Nimicește‐i cu mânie, nimicește‐i ca să nu mai fie; și să știe că Dumnezeu domnește în Iacov până la marginile pământului.
14
Și seara se întorc, urlă ca niște câini și înconjură cetatea.
15
Merg din loc în loc după mâncare și stau toată noaptea, chiar dacă nu se satură.
16
Dar eu voi cânta puterea ta; și dimineața voi lăuda tare îndurarea ta, căci tu mi‐ai fost turnul cel înalt și adăpost în ziua strâmtorării mele.
17
Ție, puterea mea, îți voi cânta laude, căci Dumnezeu este turnul meu cel înalt, Dumnezeul îndurării mele.
