Hoe lieflijk zijn uw woningen, o HEERE van de legermachten!

Mijn ziel verlangt, ja, bezwijkt van verlangen naar de voorhoven van de HEERE, mijn hart en mijn lichaam jubelen tot de levende God.

Zelfs vindt de mus een huis, de zwaluw een nest voor zich, waar zij haar jongen neerlegt, bij uw altaren, o HEERE van de legermachten, mijn Koning en mijn GOD!

Gelukkig zijn zij die in uw Huis wonen, zij loven U voortdurend. Sela.

Gelukkig is de mens die zijn kracht in U vindt, zij die in hun hart de opgaande wegen koesteren.

Als zij door een dal van balsemstruik en gaan, maken zij het tot een waterbron. Ook zal de vroege regen hen met zegeningen overdekken.

Zij gaan voort van kracht tot kracht, zij zullen voor GOD verschijnen in Sion.

O HEERE, GOD van de legermachten, hoor mijn gebed, luister, o GOD van Jakob! Sela.

O GOD, ons schild, zie en aanschouw het aangezicht van uw gezalfde!

Want een dag in uw voorhoven is beter dan duizend andere dagen. Ik sta liever op de drempel in het Huis van mijn GOD dan dat ik rondloop in de tenten van slechtheid.

Want de HEERE GOD is een zon en schild, de HEERE zal genade en heerlijkheid geven. Hij zal het goede niet onthouden aan hen die in volmaakte toewijding voortgaan.
13
O HEERE van de legermachten, gelukkig is de mens die op U vertrouwt.
