Palveteekonna laul. Issand, meenuta kõiki vaevu, mis on Taavetil,

kes vandus Issandale, tõotas Jaakobi Vägevale:

'Ei ma lähe oma maja ulualla ega heida oma magamisasemele,

ei ma anna und oma silmadele ega suikumist oma laugudele,
5
kuni ma leian paiga Issandale, eluaseme Jaakobi Vägevale!'

Vaata, me kuulsime sellest Efratas, me leidsime selle Jaari väljadelt.
7
Mingem nüüd ta eluasemeisse, kummardugem tema jalgade järi ette!
8
Tõuse, Issand, minema oma hingamispaika, sina ja su võimsuselaegas!

Sinu preestrid ehtigu endid õigusega ja su vagad hõisaku!

Oma sulase Taaveti pärast ära lükka tagasi oma võitud mehe palet!

Issand on vandunud Taavetile, tõesti, ta ei tagane sellest: 'Sinu ihu soost panen ma ühe su aujärjele!

Kui su pojad peavad minu lepingut ja mu tunnistusi, mis ma neile õpetan, siis ka nende pojad peavad istuma igavesti sinu aujärjel!'

Sest Issand on valinud Siioni ja himustanud teda enesele eluasemeks.

'See on mu hingamispaik igavesti; siia ma jään, sest ma olen himustanud seda.

Ma tahan rohkesti õnnistada tema toidust, tema vaesed täita leivaga.

Ja tema preestrid ma riietan päästega, ja tema vagad hakkavad valjusti hõiskama.
