Laulujuhatajale: viisil 'Ära hävita!'; Taaveti mõistulaul ajast, kui Saul läkitas mehed varitsema tema maja ja teda surmama.

Tõmba mind ära mu vaenlaste käest, mu Jumal! Kaitse mind nende eest, kes mulle kallale tungivad!

Kisu mind ära nende käest, kes teevad nurjatust, ja päästa mind verevalajate käest!

Sest vaata, nad varitsevad mu hinge. Võimsad kipuvad mu kallale. Ometi pole mul üleastumisi ega patusüüd, oh Issand!

Ilma et ma oleksin paha teinud, jooksevad nad kokku ning valmistuvad. Virgu mulle vastu tulema ja vaata!

Ja sina, Issand, vägede Jumal, Iisraeli Jumal, ärka üles nuhtlema kõiki paganaid! Ära heida armu nurjatuile reetjaile! Sela.

Nad tulevad igal õhtul uuesti, uluvad nagu koerad ja käivad mööda linna.

Vaata, nad ajavad kurja välja oma suust, mõõgad on nende huultes, sest nad arvavad: 'Kes seda kuuleb?'

Aga sina, Issand, naerad neid, sa pilkad kõiki paganaid.
10
Mu jõud, ma tahan hoida sinu poole, sest Jumal on mu kindel varjupaik.
11
Mu helduse Jumal tuleb mulle vastu, Jumal lubab mind parastada mu varitsejaid.
12
Ära tapa neid, et mu rahvas ei unustaks seda! Pilluta nad laiali oma vägevuse sunnil ja tõuka nad maha, Issand, meie kilp!
13
Nende suupatu pärast, nende huulte kõne pärast jäägu nad kinni oma kõrkuses ning sajatamise ja vale pärast, mida nad räägivad!
14
Lõpeta nad ära vihaleegiga; lõpeta nad, et neid ei oleks ja et nad tunneksid Jumala olevat valitseja Jaakobis maailma otsani! Sela.

Siis nad tulgu õhtul uuesti ja ulugu nagu koerad ja käigu mööda linna!
