Sina tead, millal ma maha istun ja millal ma tõusen; sa mõistad kaugelt ära mu mõtted.

Sa mõõdad ära mu käimise ja mu pikali-olemise, ja kõik mu teed on sulle tuttavad.

Sõna ei ole veel mu keelel, kui ennäe - sina, Issand, tead selle kõik ära.

Tagant ja eest sa ümbritsed mind ja paned oma pihu mu peale.

See tundmine on minule imeline, see on liiga kõrge, et saaksin sellest jagu.

Kuhu ma võiksin minna su Vaimu eest? Ja kuhu ma põgeneksin su palge eest?

Kui ma astuksin taevasse, siis oled sina seal; kui ma teeksin endale aseme surmavalda, vaata, sina oled seal!

Kui ma võtaksin koidutiivad ja asuksin elama viimse mere äärde,

siis sealgi su käsi juhataks mind ja su parem käsi haaraks minust kinni.

Ja kui ma ütleksin: 'Katku mind pimedus ja valgus mu ümber saagu ööks!',

siis pimedus ei oleks pime sinu ees, vaid öö oleks nagu päev, pimedus oleks otsekui valgus.
13
Sest sina valmistasid mu neerud ja kudusid mind mu ema ihus.
14
Ma tänan sind, et olen nii kardetavalt imeliselt loodud. Imelised on sinu teod, seda tunneb mu hing hästi.
15
Mu luud ei olnud varjul sinu eest, kui mind salajas loodi, kui mind maa sügavuses imeliseks kooti.
16
Su silmad nägid mind juba mu eos ja su raamatusse kirjutati kõik päevad, mis olid määratud, ehk küll ühtainustki neist ei olnud olemas.

Ent kui kallid on mulle sinu mõtted, oh Jumal! Kui väga suur on nende arv!

Kui ma hakkaksin neid ära lugema, oleks neid rohkem kui liiva. Kui ma ärkan, olen ma alles sinu juures.
19
Oh, et sa, Jumal, surmaksid õelad! Ja et minust taganeksid verevalajad,
20
kes sinust räägivad salalikult, kes silmakirjaks tõstavad häält, need sinu vaenlased!
21
Kas ma neid, kes sind vihkavad, Issand, ei peaks vihkama, ja kas ei peaks mulle olema tülkad need, kes tõusevad sinu vastu?
22
Täie vihaga ma vihkan neid, nad on saanud mu vaenlasteks.
23
Oh Jumal, uuri mind ja tunne ära mu süda! Katsu mind läbi ja tunne ära mu mõtted!

Vaata, kas ma olen valuteel ja juhata mind igavesele teele!
