VIEŠPATIE, išgirsk mano maldą, VIEŠPATIE, ir mano šauksmas tave tepasiekia.

Neslėpk nuo manęs savo veido, kai man sunku, atsuk man savo ausį; tą dieną, kai šaukiuosi tavęs, skubėki manęs išklausyti.
4
Juk mano dienos nyksta lyg dūmai, ir mano kaulai anglėja tarsi malkos židinyje.
5
Suvytusi ir nudžiūvusi lyg žolė mano širdis; aš užmirštu net valgyti savo duoną.
6
Nuo didelio dejavimo iš manęs liko tik kaulai ir oda.
7
Esu lyg paukštis tyruose, lyg pelėda apleistuose griuvėsiuose.

Guliu nemiegodamas ir skundžiuosi lyg vienišas paukštis ant stogo.

Visą dieną mano priešai mane užgaulioja, kaip keiksmažodį taria mano vardą!

Pelenus turiu valgyti vietoj duonos ir ašaras maišyti su gėrimu

dėl tavo apmaudo ir pykčio, nes paėmei mane ir nusviedei į šalį.

Mano dienos nyksta lyg vakaro šešėliai, aš vystu tartum žolė.

Bet tu, VIEŠPATIE, amžinai viešpatauji, ir visos kartos mini tavo vardą.

Tu pakilsi ir būsi gailestingas Sionui, nes jau laikas jo pasigailėti, skirtasis metas jau atėjo.
15
Malonūs jo akmenys tavo tarnams, o jo dulkės kelia jiems užuojautą.
16
Tautos pagarbiai bijo VIEŠPATIES vardo, visi žemės karaliai — tavo garbės.
17
VIEŠPATS atstatys Sioną ir apsireikš savo garbėje.
18
Jis atsigręš į skurdžių maldavimą ir nepaniekins jų maldos.
19
Tebūna tai užrašyta ateinančiai kartai, kad atkurtoji tauta garbintų VIEŠPATĮ:

„Jis pažvelgė iš savo šventovės aukštybių, VIEŠPATS pažiūrėjo iš dangaus į žemę,
21
kad išgirdęs belaisvių dejavimą išlaisvintų pasmerktuosius mirti“, —
22
idant VIEŠPATIES vardas būtų apsakomas Sione ir jo šlovės giesmė — Jeruzalėje,
23
kai tautos susirinks drauge su karalystėmis tarnauti VIEŠPAČIUI.

Jis išsekino mano jėgas kelyje, jis sutrumpino mano dienas.
25
„Mano Dieve, — sakiau, — nepaimk manęs iš čia įpusėjus dienoms. Tavo metai trunka per visas kartas“.

Kadaise tu padėjai žemės pamatus, ir dangūs tavo sukurti.

Jie praeis, o tu pasiliksi; jie susidėvės kaip drabužis. Kaip apdarą juos keiti, ir jie pasikeičia,

bet tu esi tas pats, ir tavo metams nėra galo.
29
Tavo tarnų vaikai saugiai gyvens, jų palikuonys bus tvirti tavo Artume.
