Asafo psalmė. Iš tikrųjų Dievas geras doriesiems, kurių širdis tyra.

Bet man beveik kojos buvo pradėjusios pintis, mano žingsniai bemaž buvo ėmę slidinėti,
3
nes aš pavydėjau pagyrūnams matydamas jų gerovę, nors jie nedori.
4
Skausmo kentėti nedorėliams nereikia, jų kūnas stiprus ir sveikas.
5
Mirtingųjų triūsas jų nevargina; jie nesikamuoja kaip kiti žmonės.
6
Užtat išdidumas — jų karoliai, smurtu jie apsigaubia lyg drabužiu.
7
Per akis užgriuvusius lašinius jie vos gali matyti; jų širdis tvinsta nedoromis užmačiomis.
8
Jie šaiposi ir kalba pikta; įžūliai grasina kitus engti.
9
Prieš dangų jie burnoja, o žemėje jų liežuvis įžūliai įsakinėja.
10
Todėl net Dievo tauta į juos gręžiasi ir noromis tiki, ką jie sako.
11
Tada sakoma: „Kaip gali Dievas žinoti?“ — ir: „Aukščiausiasis nesužinos, ką darome!“

Tad tokie yra nedorėliai, visuomet be rūpesčių kaupiantys turtus.

Argi ne veltui laikiau savo širdį tyrą ir ploviausi rankas, parodydamas, kad esu nekaltas?
14
Juk diena iš dienos kenčiu vargą, kas rytą tu mane nuplaki.
15
Jeigu būčiau taręs: „Kalbėsiu, kaip jie daro“, — būčiau buvęs neištikimas tavo vaikų būriui.
16
Nors mėginau suprasti, vis tiek tai man atrodė beviltiška užduotis,
17
kol neįėjau į Dievo šventovę; tik įėjęs suvokiau, kas nutiks nedorėliams.

Iš tikrųjų tu užvedi juos ant slidaus šlaito ir tu pastumi į žūtį.

Kaip staiga jie tampa nelaimingi! Siaubo apimti, jie visiškai išnyksta.

Kaip sapną po pabudimo, VIEŠPATIE, tu paniekini tuos vaiduoklius.
21
Kadangi mano širdis buvo apkartusi, o jausmai užgauti,
22
buvau kvailas ir nesupratau, būdamas lyg keturkojis tavo Artume.
23
Todėl būsiu su tavimi visada. Tu laikai mane už dešinės rankos,
24
vedi mane savo mokymu ir galop priimsi mane į garbę.
25
Ką kitą turiu danguje? Kadangi turiu tave, ko dar trokščiau žemėje?
26
Nors mano kūnas trapus ir širdis silpsta, Dievas yra mano širdies Uola ir mano dalis per amžius.
27
Juk iš tikrųjų, kas atsitolina nuo tavęs, tas žūva; tu padarai galą tiems, kurie tau neištikimi.
28
O man gera būti arti Dievo; prisiglaudžiau pas Viešpatį DIEVĄ, kad apsakyčiau visus jo darbus.
