Ee Mwenyezi-Mungu, mwokozi wangu, ninalia mchana kutwa, na usiku nakulalamikia.

Sala yangu ikufikie, usikilize kilio changu.

Maafa mengi yamenipata, nami niko karibu kufa.
4
Ninaonekana kama mtu anayekufa, nguvu zangu zote zimeniishia.
5
Nimesahauliwa kati ya wafu, kama waliouawa, walioko kaburini; kama wale ambao huwakumbuki tena, ambao wametengwa na ulinzi wako.
6
Umenitupa katika kina cha kaburi; katika sehemu za giza na kina kikuu.
7
Hasira yako imenilemea; umenisonga kwa mawimbi yako yote.
8
Umewafanya rafiki zangu waniepe, umenifanya kuwa chukizo kwao. Nimefungwa ndani, wala siwezi kutoroka;

macho yangu yamefifia kwa huzuni. Kila siku nakulilia, ee Mwenyezi-Mungu; ninakunyoshea mikono yangu.

Je, wewe huwatendea wafu maajabu yako? Je, mizimu hufufuka na kukusifu?
11
Je, fadhili zako zinatajwa kaburini, au uaminifu wako kwenye makao ya maangamizi?
12
Je, maajabu yako yanajulikana humo gizani, au wema wako katika nchi ya waliosahauliwa?
13
Lakini mimi nakulilia, ee Mwenyezi-Mungu; kila asubuhi nakuletea ombi langu.
14
Mbona ee Mwenyezi-Mungu wanitupilia mbali? Kwa nini unanificha uso wako?
15
Nimeteseka na kukaribia kifo tangu ujana wangu; nateseka kwa mapigo yako, niko hoi kabisa.
16
Ghadhabu yako imeniwakia; mashambulio yako ya kutisha yananiangamiza.
17
Yananizunguka kama mafuriko mchana kutwa; yananizingira yote kwa pamoja.
18
Umewafanya rafiki na wenzangu wote waniepe; giza ndilo limekuwa mwenzangu.
