Dumnezeul meu pe care Îl laud, nu tăcea!
2
Observ că gura omului rău și gura celui înșelător se deschid împotriva mea. El îmi vorbește cu o limbă mincinoasă.
3
Mă înconjoară din toate părțile cu niște cuvinte de ură; și este în conflict cu mine fără nicio justificare.
4
El răspunde dragostei mele cu dușmănie; dar eu mă rog (Ție).
5
Îmi face rău pentru binele pe care i l-am făcut; și dragostea mea este recompensată cu ură.
6
(Doamne,) pune un om rău împotriva lui; și un acuzator să stea la dreapta lui!
7
Când va fi judecat, să fie declarat vinovat; iar rugăciunea lui să fie considerată un oribil păcat.
8
Zilele lui să fie puține; iar slujba lui să o ia altul!
9
Să îi rămână fiii orfani; și soția lui să fie văduvă!
10
Copiii lui să rătăcească cerșind și căutând (lucruri fără valoare) printre ruine!
11
Cel care l-a împrumutat, să îi ia tot ce are; și străinii să îl jefuiască de rezultatul muncii lui!
12
Să nu mai fie nimeni care să îl trateze binevoitor; și nici orfanii lui să nu mai beneficieze de bunătate!
13
Doresc ca urmașii lui să ajungă în anonimat; iar în generația următoare, numele lui să fie uitat și ignorat!
14
Înaintea lui Iahve să se păstreze amintirea vinovăției strămoșilor lui; și să nu fie șters păcatul mamei lui!
15
Să rămână pentru totdeauna vinovați înaintea lui Iahve; și El să le șteargă amintirea de pe pământ!
16
Toate aceste lucruri să se întâmple pentru că nu și-a amintit să se comporte cu bunătate, ci l-a persecutat pe omul sărac; l-a exploatat pe cel defavorizat material și l-a omorât pe acela care era cu inima afectată de durere!
17
Pentru că a iubit blestemul, să fie urmărit și invadat de el! Nu i-a plăcut binecuvântarea. În consecință, ea să stea departe de el!
18
A îmbrăcat blestemul ca pe propria lui haină. El i-a intrat în stomac la fel ca apa și i-a pătruns în oase ca uleiul.
19
Din această cauză, blestemul să îi fie mantaua cu care se acoperă și centura cu care și-o strânge mereu la mijloc!
20
Aceasta să fie recompensa oponenților mei din partea lui Iahve; și așa să se întâmple celor care mă vorbesc de rău!
21
Dar Tu, Doamne care (îmi) ești Stăpân, fă-Ți lucrarea cu mine datorită numelui Tău! Pentru că bunătatea Ta este mare, salvează-mă;
22
pentru că sunt sărac și trist, iar inima mea este rănită în interiorul meu.
23
Dispar ca o umbră care trece. Sunt alungat ca o lăcustă.
24
Genunchii mei sunt slăbiți de post, iar corpul meu este epuizat din cauza lipsei de grăsime.
25
Am ajuns ridicol în fața lor! Cei care mă văd, dau din cap.
26
Doamne, Tu Cel care ești Dumnezeul meu, ajută-mă! Acționează cu bunătatea Ta și scapă-mă!
27
Determină-i să recunoască mâna Ta în tot ce se va întâmpla; ca să realizeze că Tu, Doamne, ai făcut acest lucru!
28
Ei blestemă, dar Tu binecuvântezi! Ei se ridică și rămân rușinați; dar sclavul Tău va fi vesel.
29
Adversarii mei se îmbracă cu sfidare și cu aroganță. Pun lipsa de respect peste ei ca pe o manta.
30
Dar eu Îl voi glorifica pe Iahve cu gura mea; și Îl voi lăuda în mijlocul multor oameni –
31
pentru că El stă la dreapta celui sărac, ca să îl scape de acuzatorii lui.
