Dumnezeul meu, scapă-mă de dușmanii mei. Protejează-mă de cei care au venit împotriva mea!

Salvează-mă de cei care comit fapte rele. Scapă-mă de oamenii însetați de sânge!

Privește-i cum îmi urmăresc sufletul. Doamne, niște oameni cu o mare forță complotează împotriva mea, deși nu (le-) am greșit deloc!
4
Fără să fiu vinovat, ei sunt pregătiți să mă atace. Ridică-Te, vino să mă vezi și privește ce se întâmplă!
5
Tu, Doamne, Dumnezeul armatelor, Cel care ești Dumnezeul lui Israel, vino să pedepsești toate celelalte popoare, fără să ai milă de cei care comit nedreptățile.

Se întorc seara. Urlă ca niște câini și înconjoară orașul.
7
Observ ce scot din gurile lor. Sunt săbii care ies printre buzele lor; și zic: „Cine ne aude?”
8
Dar Tu, Doamne, râzi de ei; ridiculizezi toate popoarele.
9
Forța mea, pe Tine Te aștept! Dumnezeu este fortăreața mea!
10
Dumnezeu care este bun cu mine, merge înaintea mea. Dumnezeu îmi arată unde stau ascunși cei care urmăresc să îmi facă rău.
11
Totuși nu îi omorî, ca să nu uite de ei oamenii din poporul meu! Scutură-i, acționând cu forța Ta. Doamne, Tu care ești protecția noastră, învinge-i!
12
Să fie prinși (ca într-o capcană) de propria lor mândrie. Să fie captivii păcatelor gurii lor și cuvintelor pronunțate de buzele lor. Să li se ia în considerare blestemele și minciunile!
13
Să-i consume mânia; să îi decimeze și să nu mai fie! Atunci vor recunoaște că Dumnezeu guvernează în (teritoriul locuit de) Iacov și până la marginile pământului.
14
Se întorc seara și urlă ca niște câini, înconjurând orașul.
15
Ei rătăcesc căutând mâncare; și produc sunete nearticulate dacă nu se satură.
16
Dar eu voi cânta despre forța Ta. Dimineața voi striga cu bucurie despre bunătatea Ta; pentru că Tu mi-ai fost ajutor și adăpost în ziua necazului meu.
17
Tu ești forța mea! Pe Tine Te voi lăuda; pentru că Dumnezeu este Cel care mă susține. El este acel Dumnezeu care Își manifestă bunătatea față de mine!
