Am sperat în (intervenția lui) Iahve; iar El S-a aplecat spre mine și a luat în considerare ce am cerut când am strigat (implorând ajutorul Lui).

M-a scos din groapa morții și din mlaștină. Mi-a pus piciorul pe stâncă și mi-a consolidat pașii.
3
Mi-a pus în gură un cântec nou – o laudă pentru Dumnezeul nostru. Mulți vor vedea, se vor teme de Iahve și se vor încrede în El.
4
Acela care se încrede în Iahve și al cărui drum nu deviază spre cei aroganți și nici spre cei care se închină la idoli, este un om fericit!
5
„Doamne, Dumnezeul meu, multe sunt minunile și planurile Tale pe care le-ai făcut pentru noi! Nimeni nu este ca Tine! Am vrut să le proclam și să vorbesc despre ele; dar sunt prea multe ca să le povestesc!

Tu nu ai dorit nici sacrificiu și nici dar de mâncare; ci mi-ai perforat urechile. Tu nu ai cerut nici ardere integrală, nici animal (e ca) sacrificiu pentru păcat.

Atunci am zis: «Am decis să vin! În sulul cărții este scris despre Mine.
8
Dumnezeul Meu, Îmi place să fac ce dorești Tu. Legea Ta este în interiorul Meu.»
9
Proclam dreptatea Ta în marea adunare. Tu, Doamne, știi că nu îmi închid buzele!
10
Nu ascund dreptatea Ta în inima mea; ci vorbesc despre consecvența caracterului Tău și despre salvarea Ta. Nu acopăr bunătatea Ta și adevărul Tău (când sunt) înaintea marii adunări.
11
Doamne, nu Îți opri mila față de mine! Doresc ca bunătatea Ta și caracterul Tău care nu se schimbă, să mă păzească mereu!
12
Mă înconjoară lucruri rele fără număr. Păcatele mele m-au afectat din toate părțile; și nu mai pot să văd. Ele sunt mai multe decât firele de păr de pe capul meu; și îmi descurajează inima.
13
Doamne, Te rog să fii bun (cu mine) și să mă salvezi! Doamne, vino imediat să mă ajuți!
14
Să fie ridiculizați cei care intenționează să îmi piardă viața; și să le fie rușine tuturor! Să fie obligați să se retragă și să fie umiliți toți aceia care doresc să mi se întâmple ceva rău!
15
Să rămână foarte surprinși din cauza rușinii lor toți aceia care îmi ziceau: «Ha! Ha!»
16
Dar să se bucure și să se veselească în Tine toți aceia care Te caută! Oamenii care iubesc salvarea Ta, să zică mereu: «Iahve să fie onorat!»
17
Eu sunt sărac și fără apărare; dar (Iahve este) Stăpânul (care) se va gândi la mine.” „Tu ești ajutorul și Salvatorul meu! Dumnezeul meu, nu întârzia!”
