Modlitba biedneho, keď je zúfalý a vylieva si žiaľ pred Hospodinom.
2
Hospodin, počuj moju modlitbu, kiež moje volanie k tebe prenikne!
3
Neskrývaj svoju tvár predo mnou v deň súženia, nakloň ku mne ucho, keď volám, rýchlo mi odpovedz!
4
Veď moje dni sa rozplynuli ako dym, kosti mám žeravé ako pahreba.
5
Srdce mi usychá ako pokosená tráva, aj chlieb už zabúdam jesť.
6
Od samého vzdychania mi telo vyschlo na kosť.
7
Podobám sa pelikánovi na púšti, som ako sova v rozvalinách.
8
Bdiem a som ako osamelé vtáča na streche.
9
Celý deň ma tupia moji nepriatelia, zlorečia mi tí, čo proti mne zúria.
10
Veď popol jem ako chlieb, nápoj si riedim slzami
11
pre tvoj veľký hnev a tvoju rozhorčenosť, lebo si ma zodvihol a odhodil.
12
Moje dni sú ako predĺžený tieň, usychám ako bylina.
13
Ty však, Hospodin, zostávaš naveky, tvoja pamiatka je z pokolenia na pokolenie.
14
Ty povstaneš, zľutuješ sa nad Sionom, lebo je čas prejaviť mu priazeň, nadišla tá chvíľa.
15
Tvoji sluhovia milujú jeho kamene, ľútosť ich zviera nad jeho troskami.
16
Báť sa budú pohania tvojho mena, Hospodin, a všetci králi zeme tvojej slávy,
17
pretože Hospodin znova vystavia Sion a ukáže sa vo svojej sláve.
18
Skloní sa k modlitbe opustených a nepohrdne ich modlitbou.
19
Nech sa to zapíše pre budúce pokolenia, aby znova stvorený ľud chválil Hospodina,
20
že pozrel zo svojej vznešenej svätyne, že Hospodin hľadel z neba na zem,
21
aby počul kvílenie väzňov a vyslobodil odsúdených na smrť,
22
aby meno Hospodina oznámili na Sione a jeho chválu v Jeruzaleme,
23
keď sa zhromaždia národy a kráľovstvá, aby slúžili Hospodinovi.
24
Na ceste mi podlomil silu, skrátil moje dni.
25
Hovorím: Môj Bože, neber ma v polovici mojich dní! Tvoje roky pretrvávajú z pokolenia na pokolenie.
26
Pradávno si založil zem, aj nebesia sú dielo tvojich rúk.
27
Tie sa pominú, ty ostaneš, všetko sa rozpadne ako rúcho, vymeníš ich ako odev, zmenia sa.
28
Ty si však ten istý a tvoje roky sú bez konca.
29
Synovia tvojich služobníkov budú bývať bezpečne a ich potomstvo bude stáť pevne pred tebou.
