Asáfov žalm. Bože, do tvojho dedičstva vtrhli pohania, poškvrnili tvoj svätý chrám a Jeruzalem zmenili na rumovisko.

Mŕtvoly tvojich služobníkov vydali za pokrm nebeským vtákom, telá tvojich zbožných dravej zveri.

Ich krv prelievali ako vodu okolo Jeruzalema a nemal ich kto pochovať.

Svojim susedom sme sa stali terčom potupy, svojmu okoliu sme na posmech a hanu.

Dokedy ešte, Hospodin? Chceš sa stále hnevať? Dokedy bude tvoja žiarlivosť horieť ako oheň?

Vylej svoje rozhorčenie na pohanov, ktorí ťa neuznávajú, na kráľovstvá, čo nevzývajú tvoje meno!

Veď zožierali Jákoba a pustošili jeho obydlia.

Nevyčítaj nám viny predkov, ponáhľaj sa nám v ústrety so svojím zľutovaním, lebo sme celkom bezmocní.

Pomôž nám, Bože, naša spása, pre slávu svojho mena! Vysloboď nás a odpusť nám hriechy pre svoje meno!

Prečo majú pohania vravieť: Kde je ich Boh? Nech pohania pred našimi očami poznajú pomstu za preliatu krv tvojich sluhov!

Nech k tebe prenikne vzdychanie zajatých! Mocou svojho ramena zachovaj synov odsúdených na smrť.

Našim susedom sedemnásobne odplať do lona hanobenie, ktorým ťa tupili, Pane!

My, tvoj ľud, ovce na tvojej pastve, budeme ti ďakovať naveky, z pokolenia na pokolenie rozprávať o tvojich chvályhodných činoch.
