En psalm av David. Herre, hör min bön, lyssna noga till min vädjan. Du som är trofast och rättfärdig, svara mig.

Gå inte till doms med din tjänare, för ingen levande är rättfärdig inför din blick.

Fienden har jagat ifatt mig. Han har slagit mig till marken. Han har satt mig i mörker, likt de för länge sedan döda.

Min ande flämtar inom mig, mitt hjärta är helt tomt.

Jag minns dagar från förr, jag mediterar över allt du gjort, jag begrundar dina händers verk.

Jag sträcker mina händer mot dig, min själ längtar efter dig likt törstig jord. <>

Herre, skynda att svara mig, min ande är så svag. Dölj inte ansiktet för mig, då liknar jag dem som lagts i graven.

Låt mig bittida få höra om din trogna kärlek, för jag förtröstar på dig. Låt mig få veta vägen jag ska vandra, för jag ger mig helt åt dig.

Herre, rädda mig från mina fiender, jag söker skydd hos dig.

Lär mig att göra din vilja, för du är min Gud. Låt din gode Ande leda mig på jämn mark.

Jahve, skänk mig liv för ditt namns skull. I din rättfärdighet, ta bort min ångest.

Och i din trogna kärlek, förgör mina fiender, döda alla som ansätter mig, för jag är din tjänare.
