Till Salomo. Gud, ge dina domslut till kungen och din rättfärdighet till kungens son.

Må han döma ditt folk med rättfärdighet, dina utsatta med rättvisa.

Må bergen bringa fred och välgång till folket, kullarna bringa rättfärdighet.

Må han försvara de utsatta bland folket, rädda de nödlidandes barn, krossa förtryckaren.

Må de frukta dig genom alla släktled, så länge sol och måne finns.

Må han komma som regn över nyslagen äng, likt skurar som vattnar marken.
7
Må den rättfärdige blomstra i hans dagar, och fred och välgång överflöda så länge månen finns.

Må han regera från hav till hav, från floden Eufrat till världens ände.
9
Må ökenfolket underordna sig honom, hans fiender slicka markens stoft.
10
Må Tarshish kungar och kustländerna frambära tribut, Sabas och Sebas kungar komma med gåvor.

Må alla kungar falla ner för honom, alla länder tjäna honom.

För han räddar den nödlidande som ropar, den utsatte som ingen hjälper.
