En psalm av David. Till påminnelse.

Herre, tillrättavisa mig inte i din vrede, straffa mig inte i din vredesglöd.

För dina pilar har trängt in i mig, din hand ligger tung på mig.
4
Hela min kropp är i obalans på grund av din vrede, hela mitt inre är trasigt på grund av min synd.
5
Mina synder sköljer över mig, de är mig en börda för tung att bära.
6
Jag har sår som stinker och varar sig på grund av min dårskap.
7
Jag är förtvivlad och deprimerad, jag går sörjande dagen lång.
8
Mina höfter brinner av smärta, hela min kropp är i obalans.
9
Jag är helt kraftlös och nedbruten, jag skriker i hjärteångest.
10
Herre, du känner all min längtan, min suckan är inte dold för dig.
11
Mitt hjärta rusar, min kraft sviker, och jag kan knappt se.
12
Mina vänner och grannar undviker min plåga, mina närmaste står på avstånd.
13
De som vill ta mitt liv gillrar fällor, de som vill mig ont hotar med undergång, de konspirerar om förräderi dagen lång.
14
Men jag är lik en döv, hör inget, lik en stum, säger inget.
15
Ja, jag är lik en man som inte hör, och jag förmår inte ge svar på tal.
16
Men jag väntar på dig, Jahve. Du, Herre min Gud, ska svara.

Jag sa: ”Låt dem inte skratta åt mig eller förhäva sig över mig när jag snavar.”
18
För jag är nära att falla, och min plåga är ständigt närvarande.
19
Jag bekänner min skuld, jag sörjer över min synd.
20
Men mina fiender är vitala och starka, och många hatar mig utan anledning.
21
De som lönar gott med ont ogillar mig eftersom jag strävar efter godhet.
22
Jahve, överge mig inte, min Gud, var mig nära!
23
Herre, min Frälsare, skynda till min hjälp!
