Ein salme av Asaf. Gud over gudar talar, HERREN ropar til jorda der sol går opp og der sol går ned.

Frå Sion, det fullkome vakre, strålar Gud fram.

Vår Gud kjem, han teier ikkje. Framfor han går ein øydande eld, kring han stormar det sterkt.
4
Han kallar på himmelen der oppe og på jorda, for han vil dømma sitt folk.
5
Samla mine trugne hos meg, dei som med offer har gjort pakt med meg.

Himmelen forkynner hans rettferd, Han er ein Gud som dømmer. Sela

Høyr, mitt folk, eg vil tala, Israel, eg vil vitna mot deg. Eg er Gud, din Gud.

Det er ikkje for dine slaktoffer eg viser deg til rette, dine brennoffer er alltid framfor meg.
9
Men eg tek ikkje oksar frå ditt hus eller bukkar frå dine kveer.
10
For alt viltet i skogen er mitt, dyra på dei tusen fjell.

Eg kjenner alle fuglar i fjellet, krypet på marka høyrer meg til.
12
Var eg svolten, sa eg det ikkje til deg, for jorda og det som fyller henne, høyrer meg til.

Skulle eg eta kjøt av oksar eller drikka blod av bukkar?

Du skal ofra lovsong til Gud, oppfylla dine lovnader til Den høgste!
15
Kall på meg den dagen du er i naud, så vil eg fria deg ut, og du skal gje meg ære.
16
Men til den lovlause seier Gud: Kvifor står du og ramsar opp mine bod og tek mi pakt i din munn?
17
Du har jo hata formaning og kasta mine ord bak deg.
18
Ser du ein tjuv, slår du følgje med han, med ekteskapsbrytarar held du lag.
19
Du slepper munnen laus i vondskap, med tunga spinn du svik.
20
Du sit og talar mot bror din, son til mor di skitnar du til.
21
Dette gjorde du, og eg tagde. Du tenkte eg var nett som du. Men eg skal visa deg til rette, stilla saka fram for deg.
22
Forstå dette, de som gløymer Gud! Elles riv eg dykk sund, og ingen kan berga dykk.
23
Den som ofrar lovsong, gjev meg ære, den som gjer sin veg fast, lèt eg sjå Guds frelse.
