Av Salomo. Gud, lær kongen å dømma som du, gjev kongssonen di rettferd!

Han skal dømma ditt folk med rettferd, dine hjelpelause med lov og rett!

Fjella skal gje folket fred og haugane bera rettferds frukt.

Han skal la dei verjelause i folket få sin rett, han skal berga dei fattige. Undertrykkjaren skal han knusa.
5
Lat han leva frå slekt til slekt, så lenge sol og måne er til!
6
Han skal koma som regn på nyslegen eng, lik ei regnskur som vatnar jorda.
7
Rettferd skal spira i hans dagar og freden vera stor til månen forgår.
8
Han skal styra frå hav til hav, frå Storelva til heimsens endar.
9
Dei som bur i ørkenen, skal bøya seg for han, fienden skal slikka støvet.
10
Kongar frå Tarsis og fjerne strender skal senda skatt til han. Kongane i Saba og Seba skal koma med gåver.

Han løyser dei frå tvang og vald, deira liv er dyrt i hans auge.

Kongen skal leva og få gull frå Saba! Folk skal alltid be for han og velsigna han dagen lang.

Lat kornhaugane bli høge som fjell, grøda bølgja som Libanons skog. Lat byane bløma som graset på marka!

Lat namnet hans leva til evig tid, skyta friske skot så lenge sola er til! Dei skal velsigna seg ved han, alle folk skal prisa han sæl.

Velsigna er HERREN, Israels Gud, han som gjer under, berre han,

og velsigna er hans herlege namn til evig tid! All jorda skal fyllast med hans herlegdom. Amen! Ja, amen!
