«Aliviei os seus ombros do fardo, as suas mãos livraram-se de carregar o cesto.

Na angústia chamaste por mim e Eu salvei-te, respondi-te escondido no trovão, pus-te à prova junto das águas de Meribá.

Ouve, meu povo, a minha advertência; oxalá, Israel, me prestes ouvidos:

‘Não terás contigo um deus estrangeiro, nem te prostrarás diante de um deus estranho.

Eu sou o Senhor, teu Deus, que te fez subir da terra do Egipto. Abre a tua boca e Eu enchê-la-ei.’

Mas o meu povo não quis ouvir-me; Israel não quis obedecer.
13
Por isso, entreguei-os à sua obstinação; deixei-os seguir os seus caprichos.
14
Se o meu povo me tivesse escutado! Se Israel tivesse seguido os meus caminhos!
15
Num instante, Eu humilharia os seus inimigos e castigaria os seus adversários.
16
Os inimigos do Senhor arrastar-se-iam diante dele; mas a sua sorte está traçada para sempre.
17
Alimentaria o meu povo com a flor do trigo e saciá-lo-ia com o mel silvestre.»
