Ó Deus, não fiques em silêncio; não fiques mudo nem impassível!

Vê como se agitam os teus inimigos e como levantam a cabeça os que te odeiam.
4
Formam planos astutos contra o teu povo, conspiram contra os teus protegidos.
5
Dizem: «Vamos exterminá-los de entre os povos, para não voltar a mencionar-se o nome de Israel.»

Assim decidiram de comum acordo e estabeleceram uma aliança contra ti:

as tendas de Edom e os ismaelitas, Moab e os agarenos,
8
Guebal, Amon e Amalec, os filisteus com os habitantes de Tiro.
9
Até os assírios se uniram a eles, e juntaram a sua força à dos filhos de Lot.
10
Trata-os como trataste Madian e Sísera, ou como Jabin na ribeira de Quichon.
11
Foram destruídos em En-Dor e serviram de adubo para as terras.
12
Trata os seus príncipes como fizeste com Oreb e Zeeb; trata todos os seus chefes como trataste Zeba e Salmuna,
13
porque eles tinham declarado: «Tomemos para nós os campos de Deus.»
14
Ó meu Deus, dispersa-os como folhas em redemoinho, como palha levada pelo vento,
15
como o fogo que devora a floresta, como a chama que incendeia os montes.
16
Persegue-os com a tua tempestade; aterra-os com o teu turbilhão!
17
Cobre-lhes a face de ignomínia, de modo a implorarem o teu nome, Senhor.
18
Caia sobre eles a vergonha e a humilhação para sempre; sejam confundidos e pereçam.
19
Saibam que o teu nome é Senhor. Tu és o único Altíssimo sobre toda a terra!
