SENHOR, livre-me dos maus; proteja-me dos violentos,

dos que estão sempre fazendo o mal, dos que provocam conflitos a cada momento.

As suas línguas são como as das serpentes venenosas, as suas palavras são como veneno de cobras.

Proteja-me, SENHOR, do poder dos maus; proteja-me dos violentos que fazem planos para me fazer tropeçar.
5
Esses orgulhosos escondem armadilhas contra mim; estendem redes junto ao caminho e armam laços para me apanhar.
6
Eu digo ao SENHOR: “O Senhor é o meu Deus; SENHOR, tenha compaixão, ouça o meu pedido”.
7
Ó SENHOR, meu Deus, meu poderoso salvador, é o Senhor quem protege a minha cabeça no dia de guerra.
8
SENHOR, não faça a vontade dos maus. Não deixe que os seus planos se realizem.
9
Que o mal que aqueles que me cercam dizem contra mim, caia sobre as suas próprias cabeças.
10
Que caiam brasas sobre eles, que sejam lançados ao fogo; que sejam atirados para um poço de onde nunca mais possam sair.
11
Que aqueles que falam mal dos outros desapareçam da terra; que a desgraça persiga os violentos até que eles sejam destruídos.
12
Eu sei que o SENHOR fará justiça aos pobres e defenderá os direitos dos necessitados.
13
Por isso, os justos o louvarão, e as pessoas honestas viverão na sua presença.
