Deus é realmente bom para Israel, bom para com os puros de coração.

Estive prestes a tropeçar, por pouco não me afastei do caminho.

Senti inveja ao ver a prosperidade dos arrogantes, a riqueza dos maus.

Eles não têm que lutar para sobreviver, são gordos e saudáveis.
5
Eles não têm medo da morte, nem sofrem com os problemas humanos.
6
Por isso, o orgulho é o seu colar, e a violência é a sua roupa.
7
Os seus olhos estão inchados de gordura, e não podem esconder as suas más intenções.
8
Zombam dos outros e, arrogantes, ameaçam com maldade e opressão.
9
Falam contra os céus e com a língua dominam a terra.
10
Por isso, o povo de Deus vai atrás deles e faz o que eles dizem.
11
Os infiéis dizem: “Deus não sabe o que fazemos! O Deus Altíssimo não vai ter conhecimento!”
12
Eles vivem sem preocupações e tornam-se cada vez mais ricos.
13
Então, de que adianta ser bom? Que importância tem o não fazer mal a ninguém?
14
Sofro todos os dias, e sou castigado todas as manhãs.
15
Se tivesse continuado falando assim, teria traído o seu povo.
16
Tentei compreender essas coisas, mas era difícil demais para mim.
17
Porém quando fui ao templo de Deus, entendi o que vai acontecer com os maus.
18
Vi então que o Senhor os colocou à beira do perigo. Num lugar onde facilmente podem cair e morrer.
19
Eles serão destruídos quando menos esperam. Coisas terríveis acontecem a eles, e morrem.
20
Senhor, eles são como um sonho mau que esquecemos logo que acordamos. O Senhor fará com que eles desapareçam como desaparecem os monstros de um pesadelo.
21
De fato, fiquei cheio de amargura e cheio de inveja.
22
Eu me comportei com o Senhor como um animal, louco e ignorante.
23
Mas tenho estado sempre ao seu lado, o Senhor me conduz pela mão.
24
O Senhor me guia e me dá bons conselhos, e depois me receberá com honras.
25
Só ao Senhor tenho no céu, e se estou com o Senhor na terra, não preciso de mais nada.
26
Mesmo que o meu corpo e o meu coração desfaleçam, Deus é a rocha da minha vida e a minha herança para sempre.
27
Aqueles que se afastam do Senhor serão destruídos. O Senhor destruirá todos os que lhe são infiéis.
28
Mas eu permaneci ao lado de Deus, essa é a minha alegria. Coloquei toda a minha confiança no Senhor DEUS, proclamarei a todos os atos que ele fez.
