Cantem com alegria a Deus, nossa força. Gritem de alegria ao Deus de Jacó.

Comecem a música! Toquem os tamborins, a harpa melodiosa e a lira.
3
Toquem a trombeta no dia da nossa festa, quando chegarem a lua nova e a lua cheia.
4
Isso é um decreto para Israel, uma ordem do Deus de Jacó.
5
Deus fez esse acordo com o povo de José, quando o tirou do Egito. Numa voz que eu nunca tinha ouvido antes, Deus disse:

“Tirei o peso dos seus ombros e, das mãos, os cestos cheios de tijolos.
7
Quando vocês estavam angustiados, chamaram por mim e eu os salvei. Respondi do meio de uma nuvem escura e de trovões. Eu coloquei o meu povo à prova nas águas de Meribá.
8
“Meu povo, escutem bem o meu aviso! Ó Israel, seria tão bom se vocês ouvissem o que digo!
9
Não tenham nenhum outro deus entre vocês. Não adorem os deuses que as nações adoram.
10
Eu sou o SENHOR, seu Deus, que tirou vocês do Egito. Deixem que eu os alimente.
11
“Mas o meu povo não me escutou, Israel não me obedeceu.
12
Portanto, deixei-os fazer o que teimavam fazer, e eles fizeram o que lhes dava vontade.
13
Como seria bom se o meu povo me ouvisse, se Israel me obedecesse!
14
Depressa eu derrotaria os seus inimigos e castigaria os seus adversários.
15
Os que odeiam o SENHOR seriam derrotados e castigados para sempre.
16
Mas eu alimentaria o meu povo com o melhor trigo, e os deixaria satisfeitos com o melhor mel”.
