Ó Deus, as nações invadiram o seu povo. Destruíram o seu templo sagrado e deixaram Jerusalém em ruínas.

Deixaram os corpos dos seus servos para alimento das aves do céu; os corpos dos seus fiéis para serem devorados pelas feras selvagens.
3
O sangue do seu povo corria como água por toda a cidade de Jerusalém; e não havia ninguém para enterrar os mortos.
4
Somos desprezados pelos nossos vizinhos; os países que nos rodeiam zombam de nós.
5
SENHOR, até quando ficará indignado conosco? Deixará que a sua ira nos queime para sempre?
6
Derrame a sua ira sobre as nações que não o conhecem, sobre os povos que não o adoram.
7
Pois foram eles que destruíram Jacó, que deixaram em ruínas o país.
8
Não nos castigue pelos pecados dos nossos antepassados. Mostre-nos depressa a sua compaixão, pois estamos sem nenhuma força.
9
Ó nosso Deus e Salvador, ajude-nos! Salve-nos para glória do seu nome; perdoe os nosso pecados por causa da sua honra.
10
Não deixe que os outros povos nos perguntem: “Onde está agora o seu Deus?” Deixe-nos ver o castigo daqueles que derramam o sangue dos seus servos.
11
Ouça os lamentos dos prisioneiros, mostre todo o seu poder e salve os condenados à morte.
12
Ó Senhor, castigue as nações vizinhas sete vezes mais do que elas nos fizeram! Castigue-as pelos insultos com que o ofenderam!
13
Nós somos o seu povo, as ovelhas do seu rebanho, sempre o louvaremos. De geração em geração lhe cantaremos louvores.
