Ó SENHOR, meu Deus e Salvador, passo o dia e a noite pedindo que me ajude.

Tenha compaixão de mim, escute a minha oração, ouça o meu pedido.

Eu já sofri bastante e estou perto de morrer.

Estou quase morto, não tenho força nenhuma.

Procure por mim entre os mortos, entre os que estão na sepultura. Pois eu sou como um morto, como alguém de quem já não se lembra. Estou afastado do Senhor e do seu cuidado.

Atirou-me para o mundo dos mortos, para a escuridão do abismo.
7
A sua ira é como um peso que me esmaga; ela vem contra mim como ondas do mar, sem parar.
8
O Senhor me deixou sem nenhum amigo; fez que todos me desprezassem. Estou preso e não posso escapar.
9
Os meus olhos doem de tanto chorar. Eu oro ao SENHOR todos os dias; a ele levanto as mãos em oração.
10
Será que faz milagres para os mortos? Será que os mortos se levantam para louvá-lo?
11
Alguém falará do seu amor no túmulo ou da sua fidelidade no mundo dos mortos?
12
Será que as suas maravilhas são conhecidas naquela escuridão? Alguém conhece o seu amor na terra do esquecimento?
13
Mas eu, SENHOR, peço a sua ajuda; de manhã cedo, começo a orar.
14
SENHOR, por que me abandona? Por que não quer me escutar?
15
Tenho sofrido tanto, tenho estado à beira da morte desde a minha mocidade. O Senhor me fez passar por sofrimentos terríveis; já não aguento mais.
16
Descarregou a sua ira sobre mim, estou acabado.
17
As minhas dores nunca me deixam, são como uma enchente.
18
O Senhor me afastou dos meus amigos e dos meus queridos; e agora o meu melhor amigo é a escuridão.
