Psaume de David. Eternel, je t'ai invoqué, hâte-toi de venir à moi; Prête l'oreille à ma voix, quand je crie à toi !

Que ma requête soit devant ta face comme l'encens, L'élévation de mes mains, comme l'oblation du soir !

Mets, ô Eternel, une garde à ma bouche, Une garde à la porte de mes lèvres;

N'incline pas mon cœur à des choses mauvaises, Pour commettre par méchanceté de mauvaises actions Avec les ouvriers d'iniquité; Que je ne goûte pas leurs délices !

Que le juste me frappe, c'est une faveur; Qu'il me reprenne, c'est de l'huile sur ma tête; Ma tête ne s'y refusera pas... Car même en face de leurs méchancetés, je ne sais que prier !

Que leurs chefs soient précipités Dans les fentes des rochers !... Et l'on écoutera mes paroles comme agréables.

Comme si on labourait et remuait la terre, Ainsi nos os sont dispersés à l'entrée du Schéol.

Car mes yeux, Eternel, Seigneur ! se tournent vers toi; Je me réfugie vers toi, ne livre pas mon âme !...

Garde-moi du piège qu'ils m'ont tendu Et des embûches des ouvriers d'iniquité !

Que les méchants tombent dans leurs filets, Tandis que moi, j'échapperai.
