Psaume de David. Eternel, entends ma prière, Prête l'oreille à mes supplications; Réponds-moi dans ta fidélité, dans ta justice !

Et n'entre pas en jugement avec ton serviteur, Car nul vivant ne sera trouvé juste devant toi.

Car l'ennemi poursuit mon âme; Il foule à terre ma vie, Il me fait habiter dans les ténèbres, Comme ceux qui sont morts dès longtemps;

Et mon esprit défaille en moi, Mon cœur est troublé au-dedans de moi.

Je me souviens des jours d'autrefois, Je médite toutes tes œuvres, Et je me rappelle l'œuvre de tes mains.

Je tends mes mains vers toi; Mon âme, comme une terre altérée, a soif de toi ! (Jeu d'instruments.)

Hâte-toi de me répondre, Eternel ! Mon esprit se consume. Ne cache pas ta face de moi, Car je deviendrais semblable A ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.

Fais-moi entendre dès le matin ta bonté, Car je me confie en toi. Fais-moi connaître le chemin où je dois marcher, Car j'élève mon âme à toi.

Délivre-moi de mes ennemis, Eternel ! Je [me] mets à couvert auprès de toi.
10
Enseigne-moi à faire ta volonté, car tu es mon Dieu. Que ton bon Esprit me conduise sur une voie unie.
11
A cause de ton nom, Eternel, rends-moi la vie ! Dans ta justice, retire mon âme de la détresse;
12
Et dans ta miséricorde, retranche mes ennemis, Et fais périr tous ceux qui oppriment mon âme, Car je suis ton serviteur.
