De David. Que je bénisse le Seigneur, que tout en moi bénisse son nom sacré!

Que je bénisse le Seigneur, que je n'oublie aucun de ses bienfaits!
3
– C'est lui qui pardonne toutes tes fautes, qui guérit toutes tes maladies,
4
qui reprend ta vie à la fosse, qui te couronne de fidélité et de compassion,
5
qui rassasie de biens ta vieillesse, qui te fait rajeunir comme l'aigle.
6
Le Seigneur agit pour la justice, il défend le droit de tous les opprimés.
7
Il a fait connaître ses voies à Moïse, ses hauts faits aux Israélites.
8
Le Seigneur est compatissant et clément, patient et grand par la fidélité;
9
il n'accuse pas sans cesse, il ne garde pas rancune pour toujours;
10
il ne nous traite pas selon nos péchés, il ne nous rend pas selon nos fautes.
11
Autant le ciel est élevé au-dessus de la terre, autant sa fidélité est forte au-dessus de ceux qui le craignent;
12
autant l'orient est éloigné de l'occident, autant il éloigne de nous nos transgressions.
13
Comme un père a compassion de ses fils, le Seigneur a compassion de ceux qui le craignent.
14
Car lui, il sait de quoi nous sommes formés, il se souvient que nous sommes poussière.
15
L'homme! Ses jours sont comme l'herbe, il fleurit comme la fleur des champs.
16
Lorsqu'un vent passe sur elle, elle n'est plus, et le lieu qu'elle habitait ne la reconnaît plus.
17
Mais la fidélité du Seigneur est depuis toujours et pour toujours en faveur de ceux qui le craignent, et sa justice pour les fils de leurs fils,
18
pour ceux qui gardent son alliance et se souviennent de ses directives, afin de les suivre.
19
Le Seigneur a installé son trône dans le ciel, et son règne domine sur tout.
20
Bénissez le Seigneur, vous, ses messagers, qui êtes puissants en force et qui exécutez sa parole, en écoutant sa parole!
21
Bénissez le Seigneur, vous toutes, ses armées, qui êtes à son service et qui faites sa volonté!
22
Bénissez le Seigneur, vous toutes, ses œuvres, dans tous les lieux sur lesquels il domine! Que je bénisse le Seigneur!
