O Dieu, ne sois pas silencieux! Ne te tais pas, ne reste pas tranquille, ô Dieu!

Car tes ennemis s'agitent, ceux qui te détestent lèvent la tête.
4
Avec ruse, ils montent contre ton peuple des projets secrets, ils tiennent conseil contre ceux que tu protèges.
5
Venez, disent-ils, faisons-les disparaître d'entre les nations, qu'on ne se souvienne plus du nom d'Israël!
6
Ils tiennent conseil, d'un même cœur; ils concluent une alliance contre toi;
7
les tentes d'Edom et les Ismaélites, Moab et les Hagarites,
8
Guébal, Ammon, Amalec, les Philistins avec les habitants de Tyr;
9
l'Assyrie aussi se joint à eux, elle prête le bras aux fils de Loth.
10
Traite-les comme Madiân, comme Sisera, comme Yabîn à l'oued Qishôn!
11
Ils ont été détruits à Eïn-Dor, ils sont devenus du fumier pour la terre.
12
Traite leurs nobles comme Oreb et Zéeb, et tous leurs princes comme Zébah et Tsalmounna,
13
eux qui disaient: Prenons possession des domaines de Dieu!
14
Mon Dieu, rends-les semblables aux balles de chardons, au chaume qu'emporte le vent.
15
Comme le feu brûle la forêt, comme les flammes embrasent les montagnes,
16
ainsi poursuis-les par ta tempête, épouvante-les par ton ouragan!
17
Couvre leur face de mépris pour qu'ils cherchent ton nom, Seigneur!
18
Qu'ils soient saisis de honte et d'épouvante pour toujours, qu'ils rougissent et disparaissent!
19
Qu'on sache ainsi que, toi seul, dont le nom est le Seigneur (YHWH), tu es le Très-Haut sur toute la terre!
