A pleine voix je crie vers Dieu; à pleine voix, vers Dieu, et il prête l'oreille.

Au jour de ma détresse, je cherche le Seigneur; la nuit, ma main se tend sans se lasser; je refuse d'être consolé.

Je me souviens de Dieu et je gémis; je réfléchis, et mon esprit défaille.

Tu tiens mes paupières en éveil; je suis troublé, je ne parle pas.

Je réfléchis aux jours de jadis, aux années d'autrefois.

Je me souviens, par mon chant, pendant la nuit; mon cœur médite, mon esprit s'interroge.

Le Seigneur rejettera-t-il pour toujours? N'accordera-t-il pas de nouveau sa faveur?

Sa fidélité est-elle à jamais épuisée? Ce qu'il dit est-il anéanti de génération en génération?

Dieu a-t-il oublié de faire grâce? A-t-il, dans sa colère, fermé sa compassion?

Je dis: Ce qui fait ma souffrance, c'est que la main droite du Très-Haut n'est plus la même…

Je rappellerai les actions du Seigneur (Yah); je me souviendrai des actes étonnants que tu as accomplis au temps jadis.

Je redirai toute ton action; je méditerai tes hauts faits.

O Dieu, ton chemin n'est que sainteté; quel dieu est grand comme Dieu?

C'est toi, le Dieu qui fait des choses étonnantes; tu as fait connaître ta puissance parmi les peuples.
16
Par ton bras tu as assuré la rédemption de ton peuple, les fils de Jacob et de Joseph.

Les eaux t'ont vu, ô Dieu! Les eaux t'ont vu, elles ont bouillonné; les abîmes se sont agités.

Les nuages ont versé des torrents d'eau, le ciel d'orage a fait retentir sa voix; tes flèches ont volé de toutes parts
19
Au bruit de ton tonnerre, dans le tourbillon, les éclairs ont illuminé le monde; la terre s'est agitée, elle a tremblé.
20
Ton chemin était dans la mer, ton sentier dans les grandes eaux, et tes traces n'ont pas été connues.
21
Tu as conduit ton peuple comme un troupeau, par l'intermédiaire de Moïse et d'Aaron.
