Seigneur, délivre-moi de l'homme mauvais! Préserve-moi de l'homme violent!

Ils préparent des plans malveillants dans leur cœur et sans cesse ils complotent la guerre!

Ils aiguisent leur langue comme un serpent, ils ont sous leurs lèvres un venin de vipère.

Seigneur, préserve-moi des mains du méchant! Garde-moi des hommes violents qui préparent ma chute!

Des orgueilleux me tendent un piège et préparent des liens pour moi, ils placent des filets le long du sentier, ils installent des traquenards pour moi.

Je dis au Seigneur: Tu es mon Dieu! Seigneur, prête l'oreille à mes supplications!
8
Dieu, Seigneur, force de mon salut! Tu couvres ma tête au jour où l'on prend les armes.
9
Seigneur, n'accorde pas au méchant ce qu'il désire, ne fais pas aboutir ses projets, de peur qu'il ne s'élève!
10
Que sur la tête de ceux qui m'entourent retombe le malheur préparé par leurs lèvres!

Que des braises se déversent sur eux! Qu'on les fasse tomber dans le feu, dans des fondrières, d'où ils ne se relèveront plus!
12
Le beau parleur ne s'affermira pas sur la terre; l'homme violent, le malheur le pourchassera sans répit.
13
Je sais que le Seigneur rend justice aux pauvres et qu'il défend le droit des déshérités.
14
Oui, les justes célébreront ton nom, les gens droits habiteront en ta présence.
