Éternel! en toi je me réfugie: Que jamais je ne sois dans la honte!

Dans ta justice, délivre-moi et libère-moi! Tends vers moi ton oreille, et sauve-moi!

Sois pour moi un rocher qui me serve d'asile, Tu (m') as ordonné d'y venir sans cesse Pour que je sois sauvé, Car tu es mon roc et ma forteresse.
4
Mon Dieu, fais-moi échapper à la main du méchant, À la main de l'homme injuste et aigri!
5
Car c'est toi mon espérance, Seigneur Éternel! Ma confiance (est en toi) dès ma jeunesse.
6
Dès le ventre (de ma mère) je m'appuie sur toi; C'est toi qui m'as fait sortir du sein maternel; Tu es sans cesse l'objet de ma louange.
7
Je suis pour beaucoup comme un prodige, Et toi, tu es mon puissant refuge.
8
Que ma bouche soit remplie de ta louange, De ta splendeur tout le jour!
9
Ne me rejette pas au temps de la vieillesse; Quand mes forces défaillent, ne m'abandonne pas!
10
Car mes ennemis parlent de moi, Et ceux qui guettent ma vie se consultent entre eux,
11
Disant: Dieu l'a abandonné; Poursuivez, saisissez-le; il n'y a personne pour (le) délivrer.
12
Ô Dieu, ne t'éloigne pas de moi! Mon Dieu, viens en hâte à mon secours!
13
Qu'ils soient honteux, exterminés, Ceux qui m'accusent! Qu'ils soient couverts de déshonneur et de confusion, Ceux qui cherchent mon malheur!
14
Et moi, j'espérerai sans cesse, Je te louerai de plus en plus.
15
Ma bouche racontera ta justice, ton salut, tout le jour, Car je n'en connais pas (encore) le compte.
16
Je m'avancerai avec des exploits. Seigneur Éternel! Je rappellerai ta justice, la tienne seule.
17
Ô Dieu! tu m'as instruit dès ma jeunesse, Et jusqu'à présent j'annonce tes merveilles.
18
Aussi, jusque dans la vieillesse aux cheveux blancs, Ô Dieu, ne m'abandonne pas, Afin que j'annonce ta force à cette génération, Ta puissance à tous ceux qui viendront.
19
Et ta justice, ô Dieu, atteint les sommets, Car tu as accompli de grandes choses: Dieu! qui est semblable à toi?
20
Tu nous as fait éprouver bien des détresses et des malheurs; Mais tu nous redonneras la vie, Tu me feras remonter des abîmes de la terre.
21
Accrois ma grandeur, Console-moi de nouveau!
22
Et moi aussi je te louerai au son du luth Pour ta fidélité, mon Dieu, Je psalmodierai en ton (honneur) avec la harpe, Saint d'Israël!
23
Mes lèvres t'acclameront, quand je psalmodierai en ton (honneur); Ainsi que mon âme que tu as libérée;
24
Ma langue aussi tout le jour redira ta justice, Car ils ont honte et rougissent, Ceux qui cherchent mon malheur.
