Prière de David. Éternel, tends l'oreille, réponds-moi! Car je suis malheureux et pauvre.

Garde mon âme, car je suis fidèle! Toi, mon Dieu, sauve ton serviteur qui se confie en toi!

Fais-moi grâce, Seigneur! Car je crie à toi tout le jour.

Réjouis l'âme de ton serviteur; Vers toi, Seigneur, j'élève mon âme;

Car toi, Seigneur, tu es bon et clément, Riche en bienveillance pour tous ceux qui t'invoquent.

Éternel, prête l'oreille à ma prière, Sois attentif à ma voix suppliante!

Au jour de ma détresse, je t'invoque, Car tu me réponds.
8
Nul n'est comme toi parmi les dieux, Seigneur, Et rien ne ressemble à tes œuvres.
9
Toutes les nations que tu as faites viendront Se prosterner devant ta face, Seigneur, Et rendre gloire à ton nom.
10
Car toi, tu es grand et tu opères des miracles; Toi seul, tu es Dieu.
11
Enseigne-moi tes voies, Éternel! Je marcherai dans ta vérité. Donne-moi un cœur tout simple, que je craigne ton nom.
12
Je te célébrerai de tout mon cœur, Seigneur, mon Dieu! Et je glorifierai ton nom toujours.
13
Car ta bienveillance est grande envers moi, Et tu délivres mon âme des profondeurs du séjour des morts.
14
Ô Dieu! des présomptueux se sont levés contre moi, Une troupe d'hommes violents en veulent à ma vie; Ils n'ont pas de place pour toi dans leur pensée.
15
Mais toi, Seigneur, tu es un Dieu compatissant et qui fait grâce, Lent à la colère, riche en bienveillance et en fidélité;

Tourne vers moi les regards et fais-moi grâce, Donne ta force à ton serviteur Et sauve le fils de ta servante!
17
Opère un signe en ma faveur! Que ceux qui me haïssent le voient et soient honteux! Car c'est toi, Éternel, qui me secours et qui me consoles.
