A Thighearna, a Dhè mo shlàinte, a là agus a dh’oidhche ghlaodh mi ad fhianais.

Thigeadh m’ùrnaigh ann ad làthair; aom do chluas rim ghlaodh;

Oir tha m’anam làn truaighe, agus tha mo bheatha dlùth don uaigh.

Mheasadh mi mar iadsan a thèid sìos don t‑sloc; tha mi mar dhuine gun neart;

Saor am measg nam marbh, mar iadsan a mharbhadh, a tha nan laighe anns an uaigh, air nach eil cuimhne agad nas mò, oir od làimh ghearradh as iad.
6
Chuir thu mi anns an t‑sloc as ìsle ann an dorchadas, anns na doimhneachdan.
7
Laigh d’fhearg orm gu teann, agus led thonnan uile chlaoidh thu mi. Selah.
8
Chuir thu mo luchd‐eòlais fada uam; rinn thu mi am ghràinealachd dhaibh; druidte suas tha mi, agus chan urrainn mi teachd a‑mach.
9
Tha mo shùil a’ fàilneachadh do bhrìgh m’àmhghair; ghairm mi ort, a Thighearna, gach là; shìn mi mo làmhan riut.
10
Do na mairbh an nochd thu iongantasan? An èirich na mairbh agus am mol iad thu? Selah.
11
An cuirear an cèill do choibhneas caomh anns an uaigh, d’fhìrinn ann an sgrios?
12
An aithnichear d’iongantasan anns an dorchadas, agus d’fhìreantachd ann an talamh na dìochuimhne?
13
Ach riutsa, a Thighearna, ghlaodh mise, agus anns a’ mhadainn thig m’ùrnaigh ad làthair.
14
Carson, a Thighearna, a thilgeas tu m’anam uat, a dh’fhalaicheas tu do ghnùis uam?
15
Tha mise air mo chràdh, agus dlùth don bhàs, om òige; dh’fhuiling mi d’uamhasan, tha mi ann an imcheist.
16
Dh’imich d’fhearg gheur tharam; chlaoidh d’uamhasan mi.
17
Chaidh iad timcheall orm mar uisge gach là; chuartaich iad mi le chèile.
18
Chuir thu fear mo ghaoil agus mo charaid fada uam; tha luchd m’eòlais ann an dorchadas.
