Til korlederen. En Davids-salme. En sang.

Gud, det er rett å lovsynge deg på Sion og holde de løfter som er gitt deg,

du som hører bønner. Alle mennesker kommer til deg
4
med sin syndeskyld. Når våre synder blir for tunge å bære, da sletter du dem ut.
5
Salig er den som du velger ut, så du lar ham komme nær til deg og bo i dine tempelgårder. Vi mettes med det gode i ditt hus, med det hellige i ditt tempel.
6
Du bønnhører oss i rettferd med underfulle gjerninger, du Gud som er vår frelser, en tilflukt for alle land på jorden, selv for de fjerneste kyster.
7
Du reiste fjellene med din kraft, bandt styrkebeltet om deg.
8
Du dempet opprørt hav, du stillet bølgene – larmen av folk,
9
så de som bor ved verdens ender, ble forferdet ved dine tegn. Du skapte jubel fra øst til vest.
10
Du har gjestet jorden og gitt den regn, du har gjort den overdådig rik. Guds bekk er full av vann; du sørger for at kornet vokser. Slik legger du alt til rette:

du vanner furene, jevner plogveltene og bløter opp jorden med regn; du signer det som gror på den.
12
Du kroner året med gode gaver, det drypper av fruktbarhet i dine hjulspor,
13
det drypper selv på øde beitemarker, rundt haugene er det jubel.
14
Markene er kledd med sauer og dalene dekket av korn. Det lyder gledesrop og sang.
