En bønn. Av David. Vend øret til og svar meg, Herre, for jeg er hjelpeløs og fattig!

Bevar meg, for jeg holder din pakt. Frels din tjener, du min Gud! Jeg setter min lit til deg.

Vær nådig mot meg, Herre, for jeg roper hele dagen til deg.

Gjør din tjener inderlig glad! Herre, jeg løfter min sjel til deg.
5
For du er god og tilgir gjerne; Herre, du er rik på miskunn mot alle som påkaller deg.

Herre, vend øret til min bønn, lytt til meg når jeg trygler og ber!

Jeg roper til deg på nødens dag, for du vil bønnhøre meg.
8
Herre, blant guder er ingen som du, og ingen gjerninger er som dine.
9
Alle folk som du har skapt, skal komme og bøye seg for deg, Herre, tilbe deg og ære ditt navn.

For du er stor, og du gjør under. Du alene er Gud.
11
Herre, lær meg din vei, så jeg kan vandre i din sannhet. Gi meg et udelt hjerte, så jeg frykter ditt navn.

Jeg takker deg, Herre, av hele mitt hjerte; min Gud, jeg vil evig ære ditt navn.

For din troskap mot meg er stor, du har fridd meg fra dødsrikets dyp.

Frekke menn går imot meg, Gud, en flokk av voldsmenn vil ta mitt liv. De har ikke deg for øye.
15
Men du, Herre Gud, er barmhjertig og nådig, langmodig og rik på miskunn og troskap.
16
Vend deg til meg og vær meg nådig! Gi din tjener kraft fra deg, og berg din tjenestekvinnes sønn!
17
Gi meg et tegn som varsler godt! La dem som hater meg, se det med skam! For du, Herre, hjelper og trøster meg.
