(Zpěv s hudebním doprovodem od Dávida.) Hospodine, slyš mou modlitbu, nastav uši k mým úpěním, ve své věrnosti mi odpověz, ve své spravedlnosti,
2
a kéž se svým nevolníkem nevstupuješ v soud, neboť před tvou tváří nikdo živý není spravedliv.
3
Vždyť mou duši pronásleduje nepřítel, k zemi deptá můj život, usazuje mě v temná místa jako dávno mrtvé
4
a můj duch ve mně zemdlívá, mé srdce v mém nitru trne.
5
Jal jsem se vzpomínat dní od pradávna, rozjímat o všem tvém působení, přemýšlím o díle tvých rukou,
6
ruce své jsem rozprostřel k tobě, má duše je vůči tobě jako žíznivá země. Seláh.
7
Spěšně mi odpověz, Hospodine, můj duch je zničen, kéž přede mnou neskrýváš svou tvář, jinak se stanu porovnatelným se sestupujícími v jámu;
8
dej mi za jitra slyšet tvou laskavost, neboť v tebe důvěřuji, dej mi znát cestu, jíž se mám ubírat, neboť k tobě povznáším svou duši.
9
Vyprosť mě od mých nepřátel, Hospodine, k tobě jsem se přišel skrýt;
10
vyuč mě vykonávání záliby tvé vůle, neboť ty jsi můj Bůh. Tvůj Duch je dobrý, kéž mě vede po zemi roviny
11
vzhledem k tvému jménu, Hospodine; kéž mě chceš oživit, kéž ve své spravedlnosti chceš mou duši vyvést z úzkosti
12
a ve své laskavosti zhubit mé nepřátele, a kéž zničíš všechny protivníky mé duše, neboť já jsem tvůj nevolník.
