(Od Dávida.) Při se, Hospodine, s peroucími se se mnou, bojuj s bojujícími se mnou;
2
uchop malý štít a veliký štít a povstaň mi na pomoc,
3
vytáhni kopí a postav překážku mým pronásledovatelům, řekni mé duši: Tvým vysvobozením jsem já.
4
Nechť jsou zklamáváni a stydí se usilující o mé žití; nechť ustupují zpět a v zmatek upadají chystající mé neštěstí,
5
nechť jsou jako plevy před větrem, jež anděl Hospodinův odmršťuje,
6
nechť se jejich cesta stává tmou a kluzkostí, když je anděl Hospodinův bude pronásledovat.
7
Vždyť na mne bez příčiny tajně políčili, jámu na svou síť; bez příčiny slídili po mé duši.
8
Nechť ho stíhá zánik, aniž se naděje a jeho síť, již tajně nastražil, nechť ho lapá - v zánik, nechť v něj padá!
9
A má duše bude jásat v Hospodinu, těšit se v jeho vysvobození;
10
všechny mé kosti budou říkat: Hospodine, kdo je podoben tobě, vyprošťujícímu sužovaného od silnějšího než on, a no, sužovaného a nemajetného od olupujícího jej?
11
Povstávají křivdící svědkové, vyptávají se mne na to, co nevím,
12
splácejí mi zlem za dobro, osiřením mé duši;
13
a já - mým oděvem v jejich nemoci byla pytlovina, svou duši jsem trápíval postem a má modlitba se vracela na mé záňadří,
14
jako přítelem, jako bratrem kdyby mi byl, jsem chodíval, jako truchlící po matce jsem se skláníval, začerněn.
15
A le radují se při mém ochromení a scházejí se, proti mně se scházejí, pomlouvači, jež neznám; u trhají, aniž umlkají
16
jako nevěřící, vysmívající se za kus chleba, se skřípání m svými zuby proti mně.
17
Pane, dokdy se budeš dívat? Přiveď mou duši zpět z prostřed jejich ničivosti, mou opuštěnou z prostřed hřivnatců!
18
Budu tě chválit v početném sejití, mezi mohutným lidem tě budu velebit.
19
Nechť se nade mnou neradují moji bezdůvodní nepřátelé, aniž okem mžourají bez příčiny mě nenávidící,
20
neboť nemluví pokoj ně, nýbrž proti poklidným v zemi vymýšlejí lstivé věci
21
a proti mně rozvírají svá ústa; říkají: Aha, aha, naše oko vidí!
22
Vidíš, Hospodine, kéž nemlčíš, Pane, kéž se ode mne nevzdaluješ!
23
Probuď se, a no, procitni pro mé právo, můj Bože a Pane, pro mou při,
24
suď mě podle své spravedlnosti, Hospodine, můj Bože, a nechť se nade mnou neradují,
25
nechť ve svém srdci neříkají: Aha, naše přání! Nechť neříkají: Pohltili jsme ho!
26
Nechť jsou zklamáváni a vespolek ve zmatek upadají radující se z mého neštěstí, ti, již se holedbají nade mnou, nechť si oblékají zklamání a hanbu;
27
nechť plesají a radují se oblibující mou spravedlnost; ti, nechť ustavičně říkají: Nechť je veliký Hospodin, oblibující pokoj svého nevolníka.
28
A můj jazyk bude pronášet tvou spravedlnost, po celý den tvou chválu.
