(Zpěv s hudebním doprovodem od Ásáfa.) Bože, v tvé dědictví vnikly národy, znečistili tvůj svatý chrám, Jerúsalém obrátili v zříceniny,

dali mrtvoly tvých nevolníků ptactvu nebes místo pokrmu, maso tvých zbožných jeho zvěři země;
3
jejich krev jako vodu rozlili kolkolem Jerúsaléma a nebylo pohřbívajícího.
4
Stali jsme se potupou svým sousedům, výsměchem a pohanou svému okolí.
5
Dokdy, Hospodine? Budeš se do nekonečna popuzovat, bude tvá horlivost tak jako oheň planout?
6
Vylij své popuzení na národy, jež tě neznají, a na království, jež tvé jméno nevzývají,
7
neboť Jákóba pohltil a jeho příbytek zpustošili;
8
kéž nám nepřipomínáš nepravosti předků, kéž nám spěšně vstříc vycházejí tvá smilování, neboť jsme velmi zeslábli.
9
Pomoz nám, Bože naší záchrany, pro slávu svého jména, a vyprosť nás a dej přikrytí na naše hříchy, vzhledem k svému jménu!
10
Nač mají národy říkat: Kde je jejich Bůh? Kéž je mezi národy našim očím patrno pomstění krve tvých nevolníků, jež byla vylita,
11
kéž před tvou tvář přichází sténání vězňů, podle moci své paže ponechej syny smrti
12
a našim sousedům sedminásobně do jejich záňadří vrať jejich tupení, jímž tebe, Pane, potupili!
13
A my, tvůj lid a stádo tvé pastvy, ti budeme navždy děkovat, do pokolení a pokolení vyprávět tvou slávu.
