(Od Dávida.) (Álef) K tobě, Hospodine, povznáším svou duši.

(Béth) Můj Bože, v tebe důvěřuji, nechť nejsem zklamáván, nechť nade mnou moji nepřátelé nejásají!

(Gímel) Ani se nikdo očekávající tě nemůže zklamat; zklamat se musejí ti, již se bez příčiny nevěrně chovají.
4
(Dáleth) Dej mi, Hospodine, znát tvé cesty, vyuč mě tvým stezkám;
5
(Hé) dej mi kráčet podle tvé pravdy a vyučuj mě, neboť ty jsi Bůh mého vysvobození (Váu) a tebe očekávám po celý den.
6
(Zajin) Vzpomeň, Hospodine, svých smilování a svých laskavostí, neboť ony jsou odvždy.
7
(Chéth) Hříchů mého mládí a ni mých přestoupení kéž nevzpomínáš, vzpomínej na mne podle své laskavosti vzhledem k své dobrotě, Hospodine!
8
(Téth) Dobrý a přímý je Hospodin; proto hříšníkům ukazuje na cestu;
9
(Jód) tichým dává kráčet podle práva a tiché vyučuje své cestě.
10
(Káf) Všechny stezky Hospodinovy jsou laskavostí a věrností těm, kdo si hledí jeho smlouvy a jeho svědectví.
11
(Lámed) Vzhledem k svému jménu, Hospodine, kéž i chceš odpustit mou nepravost, neboť je veliká!
12
(Mém) Kdo je takový člověk - ctitel Hospodina? Jemu on ukazuje na cestu, již si má vyvolit,
13
(Nún) jeho duše zůstává v dobru a jeho símě bude dědit zem.
14
(Sámech) Důvěrnost s Hospodinem je pro jeho ctitele, i jeho smlouva k jich obeznámení.
15
(Ajin) Mé oči - ustavičně k Hospodinu! Vždyť on mé nohy vyvádí ze sítě.
16
(Pé) Otoč se ke mně a buď mi milostiv, neboť já jsem osamělý a usoužený.
17
(Cádé) Rozhojnili úzkosti mého srdce - vyveď mě z mých útrap!
18
(Réš) Viz mé soužení a mou strast a uděl odpuštění stran všech mých hříchů;
19
viz mé nepřátele, že se rozmnožili a krutou nenávistí mě nenávidí!
20
(Šín) Střez mou duši a vyprosť mě, nechť nejsem zklamáván, neboť na tebe spoléhám!
21
(Táu) Bezúhonnost a upřímnost nechť mě zachovávají, neboť tebe očekávám.
22
Osvoboď Isráéle, Bože, ze všech jeho úzkostí!
