Per al mestre de cor. Referit a David: salm. Déu meu, a tu t’adreço la lloança,
2
Injustos i falsaris obren la boca contra meu, em parla amb engany la seva llengua;
3
m’encerclen amb paraules d’odi, em combaten sense motiu.
4
Em paguen l’amistat acusant-me i jo no faig sinó pregar;
5
em tornen mal per bé, odi a canvi d’amistat. Així parlen contra mi:
6
«Que un injust s’ocupi de la seva causa, que tingui un fiscal a la seva dreta.
7
Que surti condemnat en el judici i la pregària encara li augmenti la culpa.
8
Que duri poc la seva vida i que un altre ocupi el seu càrrec.
9
»Que els seus fills acabin orfes, i viuda la seva esposa.
10
Que els seus fills siguin captaires i vagabunds, que pidolin lluny de casa, ara en ruïnes.
11
Que un usurer li embargui tots els béns i uns estranys li saquegin la hisenda.
12
Que ningú no en tingui pietat ni s’apiadi dels seus orfes.
13
Que desapareguin els seus descendents i en una generació s’esborri el seu nom.
14
»Que el Senyor recordi les culpes dels seus pares i no esborri els pecats de la seva mare,
15
que els tingui presents per sempre. Que el Senyor arrenqui de la terra el record dels qui el van infantar.
16
»Aquest home no es recordà de tenir pietat, perseguia el pobre i desvalgut i buscava la mort del qui sofreix.
17
Li agradava maleir: que sigui maleït! No volia beneir: que ningú no el beneeixi!
18
La maledicció li feia de mantell: que li penetri com aigua dintre seu i com oli al moll dels ossos!
19
Que el cobreixi com el cobreix el vestit, com la roba que no es treu del damunt!»
20
Així m’acusen davant el Senyor els qui parlen contra mi i em volen mal.
21
Però tu, Senyor, Déu meu, tracta’m com escau al teu nom, allibera’m per la bondat del teu amor.
22
Perquè sóc pobre i desvalgut i el meu cor se sent ferit dintre meu.
23
M’esvaeixo com l’ombra del capvespre, se’m treuen del damunt com qui es treu una llagosta.
24
De tant dejunar em flaquegen els genolls i tinc el cos magre i descarnat.
25
Sóc objecte de les seves burles, em miren amb aires de mofa.
26
Ajuda’m, Senyor, Déu meu; salva’m, per l’amor que em tens.
27
Que s’adonin que aquí hi ha la teva mà, que ets tu, Senyor, qui ho ha fet.
28
Ja poden maleir, si tu beneeixes. Ja poden alçar-se, que quedaran confosos i el teu servent s’alegrarà.
29
Que la infàmia cobreixi els qui m’acusen, que els embolcalli la confusió com un mantell.
30
Donaré gràcies al Senyor amb totes les forces, el lloaré enmig d’una gentada.
31
Ell s’ha posat a la dreta del desvalgut per salvar del tribunal la seva vida.
