Salva’m, Senyor, de la gent dolenta, guarda’m dels homes violents.
3
Porten al cor el desig de fer mal, provoquen baralles cada dia,
4
fiblen amb la llengua com les serps, duen sota els llavis verí d’escurçó. Pausa
5
Protegeix-me, Senyor, de la mà dels injustos, guarda’m dels homes violents, que es proposen de fer-me ensopegar.
6
Uns arrogants m’han parat llaços i cordes, vora el camí han amagat un filat, m’hi han posat paranys. Pausa
7
Però jo dic al Senyor: «Tu ets el meu Déu; escolta, Senyor, la meva súplica.
8
Senyor, Déu meu, muralla que em salva, cobreix-me el cap el dia del combat.
9
No satisfacis el desig dels injustos, no deixis prosperar aquests intrigants: serien encara més altius, Senyor.» Pausa
10
Que recaigui sobre el cap dels qui m’acusen la malícia que surt dels seus llavis.
11
Que ploguin damunt d’ells brases roents, que el Senyor els fulmini amb el seu llamp, que els llanci a la fossa i no se n’alcin.
12
Que no prosperi en el país cap detractor, que als malvats i als violents els atrapi el Senyor i els aniquili.
13
Sé que el Senyor farà justícia als afligits, defensarà el dret del pobres.
14
Els justos lloaran el teu nom, els homes rectes viuran sota la teva mirada.
