David skrev denne salmen til bruk i tempelet. Velsignet være den som har omsorg for den hjelpeløse. Herren skal redde ham når det kommer dager med ulykke. Jeg sa: «Herre, vær nådig mot meg! Helbred min sjel, for jeg har syndet mot Deg.» Mine fiender taler ondt om meg og sier: «Når skal han dø? Hvor fort kan vi glemme hans navn?» Kommer en for å se til meg, så kommer han med fine, tomme ord. Han er falsk og vil bare vite hvordan det går. Da kan han fortelle andre om det etterpå.

Når mine fiender ikke lenger får juble over meg, da vet jeg at det er fordi Du er glad i meg. Du løfter meg opp fordi jeg er uskyldig. Til evig tid skal jeg få sitte foran Ditt ansikt.
