Korahs sønner skrev denne salmen til bruk i tempelet. Herre, Du har vist velvilje mot Ditt land. Du har gjort ende på Israelsfolkets fangenskap i Babel.

Du har tilgitt Ditt folks synder. Du har dekket over all deres synd. Du tok tilbake alt Ditt sinne, og har gått bort fra Ditt brennende raseri. Omvend oss, vår frelses Gud, og la Ditt sinne mot oss bli borte! Vil Du alltid være sint på oss? Skal det vare til evig tid? Skal Ditt sinne vare fra slekt til slekt?

Kan Du ikke fornye oss, så vi, Ditt folk, kan glede seg i Deg igjen? Vis oss Din nåde, Herre, og gi oss Din frelse! Jeg vil høre hva Gud Herren vil si til oss, for Han vil tale om fred til sitt folk og sine hellige. Men la dem ikke vende tilbake til et levesett uten Gud!

Sannelig er Hans frelse nær hos dem som frykter Ham, så vårt land blir fylt av Din herlighet. Guds barmhjertighet og sannhet harmøtt hverandre. Rettferdighet og fred skal kysse hverandre.

Sannhet skal vokse fram, og Guds rettferdighet skal se ned på oss fra Himmelen. Ja, Herren skal gi oss det som er godt, og vår mark skal gi sin grøde. Rettferdighet skal lyse fra Hans ansikt, og rettferdigheten skal bane vei for Ham.
