Den som holder seg i skjul hos Den høyeste, skal få hvile i Den allmektiges skygge.

Han sier om Herren: «Han er min beskytter. Han er min Gud, og jeg stoler fullt og helt på Ham.»

Sannelig, Han skal befri deg fra de fellene som blir lagt for deg, og fra ødeleggende og smittsomme sykdommer. Som en fugl beskytter ungene sine, slik skal Han dekke deg med sine fjær. Under Hans vinger skal du finne trygghet. Hans trofasthet skalbeskytte deg og verne deg. Du skal ikke være redd for frykten som kommer snikende om natten, eller for angrep som kommer om dagen. Du skal heller ikke frykte sykdommer som brer seg i mørket, eller for smittsomme sykdommer som herjer.

Om 1000 faller ved din side og 10 000 ved din høyre hånd, så skal ikke fienden slå deg. Du skal bare se på det som skjer, og se at de som lever uten Gud, får sin lønn.

Du har valgt å bli værende hos Herren Den høyeste, Han som er min beskytter. Derfor skal ikke noe ondt ramme deg, ingen plage skal komme nær deg. Han skal gi englene sine befaling om at de skal beskytte deg overalt hvor du går. De skal bære deg på hendene sine så du ikke snubler.

Du skal trampe på dine fiender og de som angriper deg. Herren sier: «Fordi han er så overgitt til Meg og glad i Meg, skal Jeg hjelpe ham. Jeg skal sette ham i trygghet, for han kjenner Mitt navn. Han skal be til Meg, og Jeg skal svare ham. Jeg skal være med ham i vanskeligheter. Jeg skal befri ham og gi ham ære. Jeg skal gi ham et langt liv og la ham bli frelst og komme til Meg.»
